Free Guy
HUD Design | VFX | Compositing | Title Design
We were thrilled to work with director Shawn Levy on Free Guy to develop the graphical world within FREE CITY, the massively popular online game where most of the film takes place. Developing elements for an entire world had us working at every imaginable scale, from full-frame HUDs, to CG dogfighting jets, to enormous jumbotron-style leaderboards, to blink-and-you-miss it Easter eggs in the form of player-usable items and power-ups.
We also applied the graphical language developed for FREE CITY and used it as the cornerstone for creation of the film's title card and end credit sequence. The close creative collaboration we enjoyed with Shawn Levy and the visual effects team allowed us to bring out the best in every element no matter the scale, and was invaluable to our aim to imbue each sequence we worked on with the unabashed goofiness and warmth of the film.

Title Design
The design language we built for Free City was used as the cornerstone for the film's title card and end credit sequence, which we designed in collaboration with ILM, Digital Domain, and Scanline, who shared some excellent matte paintings and digital assets created for the film.
